I will focus on the first issue of ‘keeping instruction and assessment aligned and in balance’. My plan is to share my experience from the perspective of an educational developer who supports front-line university teacher in enhancing teaching and learning. With illustrations of real cases from a university, I will discuss the common challenges/problems that university teachers encounter with respect to aligning teaching and assessment with intended learning outcomes and show how alignment can be enhanced with innovative teaching and assessment designs.
